Christophe Jacrot's Rain-Drenched Landscapes

  • by Jenny Bahn

When the rain starts coming down, sometimes it's nicer to be inside than out, a point made clear in French photographer Christophe Jacrot's artfully muddled series of images of cityscapes mid-shower. Traveling the globe, Jacrot has shot everywhere from Paris to Hong Kong and back again, capturing weather-drenched commuters, blurry windowpanes, and puddle reflections that almost induce vertigo. Standing on the other side of the glass, it's a different way to soak in the urban landscape, and infinitely drier.
